POSITION OVERVIEW

TechSmith’s Customer Education team leverages digital events as a key part of our strategy to educate our customers and improve their success. The largest piece of that strategy is our live training webinars. We conduct several webinars each week that vary from helping customers get started with the product, to helping them expand their usage and level up their skills. We offer webinars in three different languages and across multiple time zones to ensure we support the majority of our customers.
The digital events Intern supports and advances these webinar efforts by working directly alongside our full-time team members. This go-getter will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions in planning webinars, advertising, analyzing pre and post webinar data, and interacting directly with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the scheduling of all webinars and maintain the webinar landing page
  • Recruit TechSmith staff to support the webinar QA and chat
  • Design and create engaging thumbnails, descriptions, and email content to promote each webinar
  • Coordinate with Marketing to promote webinars through social media and monthly emails
  • Manage communication with registrants before and after webinars
  • Analyze webinar performance reports and apply learnings to shape future success
  • Facilitate and present webinar content (optional)
  • Other Customer Education duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • Pursuing a degree in marketing, communication, media & information, or a related field
  • Experience in leading or assisting in organizing and promoting events
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and transfer that knowledge to others
  • Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • You must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week and a maximum of 18 hours per week 
  • Ability to work in-person for the duration of the internship at our East Lansing headquarters
  • You must be enrolled for at least 6 credits (undergrad) or 3 credits (grad) for fall and/or spring semesters to be considered for an internship with TechSmith Corporation. Summer class enrollment is not required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • Experience with live digital events
  • Experience organizing and promoting events
  • Visual design skills (Canva, Dreamweaver)
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Experience editing video
  • Knowledge and experience using Camtasia and Snagit
  • Fluency in French or German is a plus

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 


Competitive pay based on skills and experience. This is an hourly position with TechSmith Corporation. Hours are based on a consensus between you and your supervisor. We require a minimum of 12 hours per week; however, hours are limited to 18  hours per week.
