Position Overview:
As a Software Test Engineer Intern at TechSmith, you will be putting to work your problem-solving skills and passion for developing and improving our test automation frameworks for our software products. You will work within a team, building the test automation that supports our world-class software products in a fun, collaborative environment. The software that you build and improve will support and ensure a high quality experience for millions of TechSmith’s customers.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include participating in an agile team, working with software engineers and test engineers to define tests, designing and creating test automation, reviewing completed work with teammates, as well as other duties as assigned. If you love technology and solving problems you will fit right in.

Required Skills and Background:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without need for further sponsorship
- Plan to be enrolled in classes in the summer or fall of 2025, working towards a degree in Computer Science, or a closely related field. Enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate credits or 3 graduate credits
- Demonstrable experience with C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, or Java
- Demonstrable experience developing software or test automation in internships, school projects, personal projects or other software applications
- Experience with leveraging an automated testing framework
- Experience collaborating on software projects within a team
- Demonstrable experience collaborating with different disciplines in software development
- Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid or remote work environment
- For the duration of the internship you must reside in Michigan, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, or Texas
Demonstrable experience with at least two of the following:
- C++ or C#
- Writing automated software tests
- Building automated testing tools or harnesses
- Collaborative software practices, such as code reviews and pair programming
- Developing applications for Windows
Compensation and Perks:
TechSmith offers competitive pay. This is an hourly position with TechSmith Corporation. Schedule and hours are based on a consensus between you and your supervisor, a minimum of 12 hours per week is required, and hours are limited to a maximum of 40 hours per week. An internship with TechSmith will last one semester.
