Your Opportunity: Taylor Communications, a Taylor Corporation company, is looking to add a Printing Press Operator to their 3rd shift team in the Dallas, TX pressure-sensitive label manufacturing plant! In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining a rotary web press for stock/custom business label production.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Carry out accurately and precisely detailed instructions from job orders. Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct.
  • Set up/adjust press for job runs to meet specifications.
  • Monitor product for quality during job runs. Check preciseness of detail against specifications. Take action to correct any problems.
  • Monitor equipment during job runs. Remain alert to mechanical problems and refer as necessary to maintenance.
  • Initiate the start up and running of jobs in keeping with production schedule.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Meet standards for output, waste, and spoilage.
  • Pack finished products into cartons; label and stock on pallets. Oversee packers (when assigned) on same. Give instruction as appropriate to assigned packer/helper.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines. Keep workspace clean and organized for efficiency in shift changeovers.
  • Complete with accuracy related logs and paperwork.

Your Shift:

  • 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; alternating two-week schedule (3 days one week and 4 days the next week)

You Must Have:

  • Operational knowledge of and previous training and/or on-the-job experience equivalent to an apprenticeship completion on a rotary web press
  • The ability to effectively communicate in the English language
  • Shop math skills
  • The ability to understand and apply detailed information
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance standards
  • Knowledge of paper stocks, inks and related materials/techniques used in printing industry
  • Work planning skills
  • Knowledge of safety standards
  • Ability to meet physical demands of job (lifting, standing, machine noise)

We Would Also Prefer:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of flexographic press operator experience at journey-level
