Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Project Manager/Scrum Master to work in our Eden Prairie, Minn., office and lead the Taylor marketing team projects and programs using both traditional project management approaches and agile/scrum methodology. This position requires professional maturity and flexibility in approach to ensure that projects are delivered on time and that meet goals and expectations as defined by the scope, schedule, milestones and success criteria. The project manager/scrum master must be a credible and effective communicator, successful in building relationships and rapport across all levels of the organization, and adept at handling stress and constant change. Also, the successful candidate must be willing to: establish agile project management practices; act as mentor, trainer and coach; and have an understanding of or experience in managing projects and programs in a creative marketing environment.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Taylor United Creative Marketing team of more than 25 members in planning and executing projects, including assigning resources, identifying milestones and deliverables, facilitating project status reporting and communication with stakeholders, defining a project scope, and managing budgets
  • Contribute to sound portfolio and program dashboard reporting practices
  • Work with marketing leadership and team members to develop project plans, coordinate priorities, and manage schedules and resource allocation to ensure completion of projects and programs
  • Communicate overall scope, timing, requirements, resource analysis and deliverables to team members and key stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently by using project management best practices
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to identify project risks, probability and mitigation; plan impacts; and project change control processes
  • Contribute to resource management processes, such as forecasting and capacity planning
  • Work to implement agile project management methods to contribute to the Creative Marketing team’s delivery efficiency
  • Help capitalize on existing software, tools and processes for agile and project management successes
  • Coach, mentor and train users at all levels on agile project management practices
  • Work with team members in different geographic locations
  • Provide training and present project management methodologies and best practices at all levels of the organization

 

You Must Have:

  • PMP certification from PMI
  • CSM certification from Scrum Alliance
  • 5+ years project management experience in a corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, business management, communications or a related field
  • Professional work experience as project manager and/or Scrum Master, integrating both processes successfully into project delivery processes
  • Competencies with the Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); collaboration tools (ie. Slack, Teams); Google Docs; and Workfront or a similar project/portfolio tool, such as Primavera, VersionOne or Jira
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels in the organization, including with senior management, technical and business-oriented project staff, and users and stakeholders
  • Ability to gain the confidence of the team as well as executive-level stakeholders by communicating regularly, keeping commitments and delivering on promises
  • Ability to foster buy-in and cooperation through persuasion, influence and persistence
  • Strong analytical and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with teams
  • Able to negotiate with peers and superiors to ensure work gets done
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track, manage and resolve issues on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, professional, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity in a diverse, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to leverage experience with agile project management methodologies to lead project teams — on a daily basis — to the successful project delivery
  • Ability to assess work priorities and determine if Kanban or Scrum is a good candidate for project delivery
  • Ability to act, occasionally, as project traffic coordinator, managing work request intake and creating projects in Workfront
  • Ability to travel occasionally

 

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in marketing, English, communications or business management
  • Professional project management experience in a creative marketing environment
