Taylor Corporation is seeking a Communications Intern to assist with several internal communications projects. The position is responsible for writing, editing, posting to the company intranet site, and developing materials for employee communication.

 

Shift Available

  • Weekdays, M-F, 8-5

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to support the creation and evolution of employee communication materials.
  • Write engaging articles and work as a team to maintain a content calendar for internal communications.
  • Work with company leadership to plan communication opportunities.
  • Maintain language and tone consistency across multiple brands and channels (e.g. social media, emails, blogs, newsletter, web, presentations, video scripts, and print materials).
  • Work both individually and within teams to produce defined project deliverables on tight deadlines.
  • Proofread and edit the work of others, as well as your own, to ensure consistency in style, grammar, and tone.
  • Occasionally work with graphic designers to assemble graphics.
  • Effectively communicate project deliverables and strategy rationale in verbal, visual, and written formats.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently attained a degree in English, Communications, Mass Media, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, or other related disciplines.
  • Able to provide work samples that demonstrate excellent writing and research capabilities.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and collaborate effectively as a team member.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Publisher), Google Documents, Google Slides and Forms, and Skype.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and comfort with writing for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Excellent copy-writing and research skills, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas.
  • Must be highly collaborative, personable, and open to constructive feedback from peers and clients.
  • Comfortable with contacting and interviewing individuals both in person and over the phone.
  • Capable of strategically managing and prioritizing multiple tasks on tight timelines.
  • Has strong organizational skills and enjoys problem-solving.
  • Must be able to work out of our North Mankato, MN office starting May 2019.
  • Familiarity with Adobe design products is a plus (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Adobe design products is a plus (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Working knowledge of Wordpress or other content management systems a plus
