Your Opportunity: Taymark Inc. is seeking a Distribution Manager to lead the overall day to day operation in White Bear Lake, MN. The Distribution Manager is responsible for talent acquisition, training, scheduling and ensuring a safe work environment.  This person will communicate with other departments and management to resolve problems and finds ways to improve processes and efficiencies. This position will sit on the company’s Leadership Team and report directly to the President.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, mentor and motivate direct reports to achieve the optimum level of performance
  • Develop budgets and approve budget expenses, responsible for managing to budgeted expenses for all respective areas
  • Develops and shares daily, weekly, monthly metrics and monitors the results to budget or goal targets.  Has a continuous improvement expectation
  • Develop and implement department SMART goals, communicates expectations, timelines, processes and performance feedback to department personnel
  • Works with Marketing to develop a plan for a successful Prom/Homecoming season
  • Conduct monthly meeting with Marketing to review process improvement areas and slow moving inventory
  • Implement and maintain safe work processes
  • Evaluates existing equipment, provides an ROI and CAPX recommendations
  • Ensures that customer focus and service is a priority
  • Supports LEAN process transformation and seeks continuous improvement development
  • Communicates with other company leaders in cooperative planning and discussions
  • Review and continuous documentation of work cell SOP’s and cross training
  • Prepare and execute Year End Physical Inventory
  • Prepares hiring plan for Prom season
  • Work with production equipment suppliers for maintenance and repairs
  • Support and drive automation opportunities for the Operations area
  • Develop the big idea, turn it into an executable project plan, work with team to figure out what needs to be done and bring the projects to fruition

 

You Must Have:

  • College degree or equivalent amount of experience preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in production/warehouse environment
  • Strong analytical and computer skills including; Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn and work with Company AS400 system
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate problem solving/decision making abilities
  • Comfortable collaborating with other departments, leaders and teams to accomplish specific timelines and results
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency and time constraints
  • Organized and detail oriented
