Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: that you need both broad and deep technology knowledge in network engineering design and maintenance as well as the ability to architect solutions by applying advanced analysis skills to map customer operational challenges to appropriate end-to-end technology solutions. As you tackle your new tasks for the day, you know that it comes down to one thing: that you will be working in a fast-paced BPO environment driving performance and reliability from mostly cloud-based environments.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will provide overall enterprise level LAN and WAN IP-based infrastructure systems planning, operations and maintenance, and management across multiple sites (currently three). You will manage infrastructures for operational networks, of multiple security classification levels. You will serve as a technical point of contact for all matters related to overall IT infrastructure. You will perform root cause analyses on all customer-related technical problems and recommend a technical solution. You will work within strict time frames, fixed SLAs and elevate incidents within defined timeframes. You will also support the planning and execution of network installations, software and hardware upgrades of on-premise and cloud-based infra. You will resolve technical issues and prepare incident reports, maintenance advisory, IT memos that are simple, relevant and complete with pertinent details . You will work with various vendors and service providers to ensure zero downtime environment. You will conduct LAN (Ethernet, HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF etc) and WAN (IP, MPLS etc) preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting/problem resolution. You will also maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications. You will perform enterprise traffic analysis (e.g., link utilization, flows, latency, dropped packets and other relevant metrics) to detect/determine network inefficiencies, time-sensitive web application performance issues and make recommendations to resolve technical problems. You will monitor performance to identify and optimize the system infrastructure and conduct transaction monitoring for bandwidth utilization and application performance. What else? Well, you will also provide advanced technical analyses of network infrastructure challenges and problems; develop/identify technical solutions responsive to customer needs. You will support an improved infrastructure information security vulnerability posture through the performance of vulnerability assessments and analyses. You will also support internal customer computer technical support efforts on all IT matters. Your passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience. You should also be extremely confident and solid with written and verbal communications skills to all audience (top management, internal and external customers, vendors etc.). Your ability to envision, develop, coordinate, prioritize, lead, and motivate individuals and team efforts to produce required and timely operational support to internal and external customers.

So, what is it we’re looking for? Well, since this is a network engineer role you need to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Communications and or equivalent experience. Also, CCNA/CCNP Certifications are also required. Experience is also needed for this role, so you need to have at least 8 years of relevant and progressively increasing responsibility and achievement on IT networking infrastructure projects. You also need to have at least 3 relevant technical projects, with 1 occurring within the past 3 years.
In terms of expertise, we’re looking for someone who’s excellent in infrastructure design and architecture, deployment, operations and maintenance, and upgrades in a BPO environment. Also, a solid working knowledge in the planning, design, integration, optimization, operations, security, and support of enterprise network infrastructures is needed for this position. What other experiences? Well, if you have any experience in managing the infrastructure of mid-size operational networks (2000+ workstations) in a high-paced fluid BPO environment plus experience in handling a team of Level 1 and Level 2 engineers providing technical support in a BPO environment for both internal operations and external customers then you’re what we need.
Now let’s get a bit technical. We need someone who has superior problem solving, troubleshooting skills and reasoning ability at the system engineer level. Someone with a working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks and F5 Networks. Someone who has a broad experience in Firewalls, IPS/IDS, and Threat Prevention. In terms of software, you must have at least 5 years experience on Palo Alto Firewall and Cisco Firepower Firewalls plus a skill set in Palo Alto Panorama Firewall Management Console. Lastly, you must be willing to work on a rotational shifting period and on call 24/7.
