Key Responsibilities

  • Build the Team. Define roles and responsibilities and identify team members through staff structure maps. (AWS services, networking, security, operations, application development, migrations, databases, and infrastructure.)
  • Train and Coach. Identify training gaps through LNA (Learning Needs Analysis) and create a training plan.
  • Pilot Projects. Pilot Projects and enable the CEE team to get hands-on experience with AWS. Help existing teams to gain the skills needed. 
  • Architecting for the Cloud: Define the AWS end-state architecture for development, test, performance testing, QA, and production. 
  • Manage costs. Ensure that the billing and financial management processes are configured using AWS tagging and billing. 
  • Governance policies are set for access requests, security, and usage, and service limits are set. 
  • This leader will also ensure that the cloud identity access control policies are set, and the AWS account structure and IAM roles are defined. 
  • AWS Landing Zones and AWS Control Towers are managed. 
  • Operating in the Cloud - focus on how we should operate in the cloud including the following capabilities:
    • Infrastructure as code
    • Code repositories and version control
    • Monitoring, alerting, notifications and reporting, escalation policies
    • Financial tracking and auditing
    • Service deployment policies, and examination of opportunities for DevOps practices
  • Continuous improvements. Regular project reviews and post mortems, keeping up to date with the latest technologies and innovation, automating everything, tracking costs, KPI reviews through a KPI portal, monthly review meetings, and continuous training.
  • Develop the strategic vision, strategy, and roadmaps that guide the consumption of cloud and infrastructure services in accordance with security architectures and operational frameworks.
  • Develop the maturity of Cloud Services to improve efficiency and help with the delivery of new innovations and increase collaboration with other business areas
  • Manage teams to measurable key performance indicators and service levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology and business stakeholders to prioritize requests and projects.
  • Understand and manage service-related expenses and projects with capital expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with other IT and business leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of Cloud services to meet business needs.


  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree holder in Computer Science or related fields 
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud architecture, engineering, and governance
  • Skills required: AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route 53, ELB, Gateway, Direct Connect, CloudFront, Lambda, EBS, EFS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, SNS, SQS, KMS)
  • Effective people management experience
  • Critical and structured thinking, business acumen, and executive-level influence to formulate and obtain broad support for proposed IT strategies, ability to objectively assess, articulate and constructively debate major strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, risks and considerations for multiple alternatives and incorporate input from other stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working, designing, developing and architecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and other cloud providers.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills with active-listening skills.
  • Proven adaptability to shifting project schedules, priorities and assignments; able to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated problem-solver with the ability to cope under pressure and coordinate multiple activities in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, vendors and partners.
  • Excellent written and documentation skills including proofreading and attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-driven, motivated senior IT professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and leadership/good executive presence.
  • Strong financial acumen to establish budgets that are driven by plans, accurately forecast costs, efficiently manage variances and improve service value.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, technical design and operational controls is desired.
  • Proven track record of executing through global teams, managing remote personnel, developing talent, and creating high performing teams
  • Ability to effectively manage large global deployments of new or enhanced IT end-user services using vendors
  • Highly collaborative, accountable, and results-driven.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to large audiences via email and in person.
  • Organizational change management experience is a plus.
  • Preferably from the BPO industry
  • Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect - Associate or AWS Certified Developer - Associate
