Role Overview

Millwrights at Gibraltar, under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, are responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment ranging from crushing operations through to the tailings systems. This work is carried out through preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities. The millwrights work closely as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team alongside electricians, pipefitters, and welders to ensure equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and with minimal impact to operations. Maintenance coverage is provided by two crews working 12-hour shifts on a 5/4, 4/5, 5/5 rotating schedule, covering both days and nights.

Core Responsibilities

  • Meet production, maintenance and safety goals and objectives.
  • Perform preventative, predictive & breakdown maintenance associated with operations equipment including, but not limited to, crushers, conveying systems, grinding mills, pumps & piping systems.
  • Contribute to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
  • Interprovincial trade qualifications in Millwrighting (Red Seal Certification).

Skills & Competencies

  • Mining experience is considered an asset.
  • Welding and fabricating experience will be considered an asset.
