General Accountability

Based in the head office in Vancouver and reporting to the Group Controller, we are seeking a career-oriented, ambitious Financial Reporting Manager to support the senior management team in the following areas:

  • External and internal financial reporting, analysis and consolidation processes
  • Researching technical IFRS accounting topics
  • Oversight of internal controls
  • Assisting tax, treasury and corporate finance functions

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for Taseko entities
  • Prepare various regulatory filings, including consolidated financial statements, MD&A, annual reports, etc.
  • Research complex accounting issues and assistance with valuation models where applicable
  • Manage the preparation and review of detailed working papers supporting monthly and quarterly financial close, including accounting entries and supporting calculations
  • Prepare and review journal entries and supporting schedules for intercompany cross border transactions and funding arrangements
  • Review cash sheets and weekly cash management summaries, bank, and other types of reconciliations
  • Support the Treasurer, as needed, on integration of the cash management system with the reporting processes
  • Manage Taseko’s stock-based compensation and pension arrangements and related reporting requirements
  • Liaise with mine site controllers and teams in Canada and the U.S. on various site related accounting matters
  • Coordinate and support the quarterly review and year-end audit processes with Taseko’s external auditor
  • Maintain internal controls, process documentation, and support the review and testing processes by the internal audit advisor and external auditor
  • Travel to mine and project sites, from time to time, to support site finance teams with a focus on process improvement initiatives
  • Other duties and projects assigned by the Group Controller

 

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate finance related field
  • CPA (or equivalent) designation
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive finance experience with career ambition to grow with a rapidly growing organization
  • Extensive IFRS financial reporting experience with technical proficiency in complex topic areas
  • Mining or natural resource industry and public-company work experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in public practice, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong MS Office and computer skills with an emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience using SAGE 300, 4Site or any other accounting software is an advantage
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritize competing assignments
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively within established timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
