Purchasing Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Purchasing Intern will primarily assist the Purchasing Department with various projects related to procurement, customer relationship management, and supply chain objectives.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cross functionally with finance, procurement, and engineering to create proposal cost estimates
- Create tools to support our supply chain strategy, and aide in identifying vendors that can best meet TAS’s requirements for functionality, cost, and quality
- Perform data, business, operational, or statistical research analysis
- Verify purchase orders
- Lead process improvement projects such as process mapping and procedure creation
- Prepare presentations for the team and senior management highlighting performance in an easy-to-understand, executive-ready manner
- Other responsibilities as designated by TAS

EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Management or Business degree with emphasis in Supply Chain
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
