POSITION OVERVIEW:  

The Quality Systems Specialist is responsible for the implementation and/or usage of assigned internal or external software applications. The Quality Systems Specialist is also responsible for the collection and distribution of data from these systems.  

  

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

        Owner of Cumulus “Smart Torque” torque management software  

        Owner of Quality’s portion of Go Canvas inspection checklist software.  

        Owner of iMonnit Welding Consumable monitoring software. 

        Provides exported data out of each application in a manner that can be used to evaluate business conditions.  

        Ensures software programs continue to work properly after maintenance and testing. 

        Develops business cases for new software applications for use by the quality department.  

        Performs training sessions with applicable personnel on usage of software applications.  

        Communicates the status of usage and engagement with these programs within the department.  

        Determines software applications that best suit the current and future goals of the department.  

        Develops procedures and work instructions and training materials as applicable. 

        Any other tasks assigned by TAS Energy.  

  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

        Expert in computer usage with train-the-trainer level ability to utilize numerous SaaS systems. 

        Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and sequences of operation. 

        Data collection and Exporting  

        Intermediate knowledge of SaaS systems.  

        Intermediate knowledge of ISO 9001 standard practices.  

        Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. 

        Experience with connecting different software systems together through API or any other comparable platform. 

        Ability to flexibly work at different TAS facilities depending on the current department needs.  

  

JOB SKILLS: 

        Advanced communication skills to provide instructions to all parties including being able to answer questions a customer may have on how the software performs. 

        Attentiveness to detail to ensure all parts of an application come together and work as intended. 

        Interpersonal skills to be able to work with others who may be included in utilizing the software program to ensure it works properly. 

        Problem-solving skills to ensure any issues that arise during software usage are addressed.  

        Record-keeping skills to track the implementation and usage of applicable systems.  

  

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

        5+ Years involved with managing business software applications with more focus on operational functions.  

        2+ Years with software implementations 

        Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) 

        Certified Solutions Architect (CSA)  

        Knowledge of applicable codes 

  • ASME Section VIII, IX, and V
  • ANSI B31.1, 31.3, 31.9
  • AWS D1.1
  • NEC/IEC

        Knowledge of quality management standards: 

  • ISO 9001:2015

        Advanced knowledge of Manufacturing concepts: 

  • Standard Quality Inspection points
  • Manufacturing Assembly and testing
  • Fastener torquing principals.

  

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 

        Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.   

        Basic training on quality systems equal or equivalent to ISO 9001:2018 

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with a computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.  Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading.  The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
