Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Matric 
  • Diploma or degree in HR or similar field (advantageous)
  • 3-5 years working in Payroll
  • 1-3 years working in other HR functions
  • Sage 300 Certificate

Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll of employees on the payroll system (This includes the entire cycle of payroll process);
  • Provide administration support to other HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, HR reporting, and the implementation of other HR strategies);
  • Manages the payroll and benefits in South Africa, UK and Kenya;
  • Responsible for the coordination between payroll and human resources, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data;
  • Handle the administration of the Payroll system;
  • Maintain employee records;
  • Generate reports for payments e.g. PAYE returns and other third parties;
  • Maintain a proper document control system;
  • Keep abreast with company policies and tax legislations that impact on remuneration;
  • Prepare month-end reporting;
  • Engage with various Stakeholders;
  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits;
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports;
  • Resolve issues and payroll-related questions;
  • Lead the payroll strategy, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance

Knowledge

  • HR legislation (EEA and BCEA)
  • HR Systems
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of Payroll Systems (i.e. SAGE 300 is essential)
