Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Lead a team of assigned account managers. Align the group for rapid and profitable growth. Leverage relationships and technology and provide best-in-class service and communication. Drive overall profitable growth and maximize customer growth opportunities. Contribute to and align with the strategies and tactics of the the company's Logistics organization. Build and optimize the use of carrier partner relationships, alliance partnerships and other relations to deliver the most compelling short and long-term customer value propositions and efficient means of moving our customer's freight.

  • Ensure loads are covered at a profit as well as desirable business for our partner carriers.
  • Facilitate communication and manage the interface between the customers' plant, transportation personnel and head office in order to properly integrate customer transportation strategies with the company's strategies.
  • Oversee sales activity associated with assigned smaller-scoped national customer accounts, including dedicated.
  • Maintain focus on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Lead and collaborate efforts to ensure all the company's Logistics customers needs are met through working with the company's Logistics operations personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of trailers and dropped trailers are in place at each location as well as ensuring drop yards are secure, yet accessible to Drivers.
  • Price and negotiate rates including accessorial charges on behalf of the company's Logistics.
  • Initiate and/or gather all rate request documents and other documentation.
  • Prioritize and communicate customer commitments; initiate contract requests and changes to contracts.
  • Direct proper billing of freight and provide problem resolution as needed.
  • Provide instructions and direction for booking loads as appropriate.
  • Perform site and carrier visits as necessary, which may require travel.
  • Refine and update technical/business skills and experience through work assignments, advanced technical/business training and attending professional/business industry conferences.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • 4 years' experience in account management and/or sales and/or customer relations management and/or logistics and/or transportation required.
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience required.
  • Previous 3PL (Third Party Logistics) preferred.
  • Bachelors in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Must possess exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Must be results oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency and purpose.
  • Must be able to collaborate across departments/lines of business and drive exceptional results.
  • Must be able to develop others.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Transportation Management System (TMS) systems.
  • Must possess quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with superior problem solving abilities.
  • Must be able to operate in a busy, demanding, and highly motivated environment.


Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annual
