Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Provide leadership and supervision to assigned employees within the Claims Department. Provide guidance and collaborate with leaders with other brands under the KNX umbrella. Mitigate the company's exposure by formulating, developing and implementing appropriate claims handling techniques and retrieval of dashcam data. Incumbents have up to $100,000 reserve authority; $50,000 settlement authority and $25,000 payment authority.
- Oversee assigned group ensuring appropriate staffing levels, operating within budget constraints.
 - Ensure assigned employees have career development plans.
 - Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure assigned team members meet or exceed expected level of performance.
 - Lead and direct external vendors, such as, but not limited to, lawyers, adjuster(s) and consultants.
 - Work closely with legal support leadership to control/minimize legal cost to company through fees and additional expenses.
 - Negotiate legal costs where applicable and in alignment with local, state and federal laws as well as company policies.
 - Gather pertinent legal information, dashcam videos and claims documentation to assist designated department personnel with deposition requests and other discovery.
 - Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
 - Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 6+ years' claims experience required.
 - 2 years' handling claims in transportation industry required.
 - Previous leadership experience required.
 - Bachelors' degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
 - Maintain state licensing where required.
 - Successful completion of claims certification schools/classes such as AIC, AEI, ARM, CPCU preferred.
 - Must possess exceptional negotiation skills.
 - Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
 - Must posses strong understanding of legal terminology and able to identify material items.
 - Must possess strong understanding of property and casualty insurance and claims handling process.
 - Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
 - Must have proven leadership skills.
