Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Provide oversight for systems integrator, data warehouse and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) structures. Recommend optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability.

  • Oversee assigned areas, ensuring appropriately staffed, operating within budget constraints and that systems meet KNX organizational requirements.
  • Ensure assigned employees have career development plans that provide the organization with strong bench strength for future leaders and specialized individual contributors.
  • Prepare project plans, development approaches, estimated costs and schedules for approval by Information Technology leadership and customer leadership.
  • Design and document data security and asset protection techniques while adhering to data security and protection policies.
  • Ensure data warehouse structure is set up for optimization of data extraction and integration.
  • Recommend optimization to ensure and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies and identify training and development requirements of the team.
  • Oversee analysis of business and technical requirements and data models to ensure full understanding of detailed data and leadership requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership and end-users on overall design of physical structure and implementation plans.
  • Design, documentation and build physical database objects ensuring system standards and leader requirements are met.
  • Direct, lead, monitor and administer ETL and system activity, including optimization and tuning of data loads.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • 8+ years experience as ETL developer in data warehouse/business intelligence environment required.
  • Previous experience with data warehousing methodologies and concepts, including and not limited to: star schemas, snowflakes, ETL processes, and dimensional modeling; required.
  • Previous experience with system integration across multiple systems and platforms utilizing various technologies such as ODBC, FTP, Window, Unix/Linux, and AS/400; required.
  • Previous experience with Informatics required.
  • Previous experience working in big data environments with high volume databases required.
  • Must be able to work with cross functional development, QA, test and production teams.
  • Must possess a proven track record of meeting project deadlines and delivering high quality consulting services.
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelors in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Masters preferred.
