Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Supervise a fleet of new hire drivers at Swift and supports the inexperienced new hire throughout the process of being assigned to an experienced driver mentor and ultimately completing assessments designed to demonstrate a new hire is prepared to become a solo driver. Deliver feedback to terminal and/or fleet leadership regarding Driver Leaders' interactions with all their assigned drivers. Sets the tone as the cultural ambassador for all drivers and driver trainees ensuring all non-driver support roles and leadership focus on providing solutions that address what is best for each driver. Incumbents may be assigned to work weekend, 2nd or 3rd shift based on company driver needs.
- Coordinate assessments of new driver's progress, providing performance coaching to the new driver and the mentor as needed. Gather sufficient information from available resources (assessments, mentors, etc.) to make the ultimate decisions on when or if driver is prepared to upgrade to solo.
- Build meaningful relationships of trust with a fleet of new hire drivers, providing outstanding support to them throughout the duration of their training.
- Closely monitor the progress of all new hire drivers in the program, evaluating the skill development of each assigned new hire and intervening where necessary to accelerate a driver's ability to reach the highest possible levels of competency and proficiency in their new role.
- Closely monitor new driver and mentor performance indicators, with the ultimate focus on achieving the quality and satisfaction objectives of the department.
- Act as internal advocates for trainee driver experience and take appropriate actions to investigate and resolve concerns in order to achieve high levels of driver retention.
- Routinely observe and/or participate in meetings between the driver and their leader providing solutions which meet driver and company expectations.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of new hire driver pay.
- Proactively provide coaching and guidance to Driver Leaders regarding drivers transitioning to their team.
- Ensure that material is delivered in a timely fashion and provides drivers with information that excites and engages them into the Swift culture. Facilitate and lead engaging and informative orientation sessions and that all drivers meet DOT/Swift requirements regarding medical exams.
- Disqualify applicants who do not meet the drug screen and hiring criteria; consult with appropriate leadership personnel on additional disqualification concerns.
- Maintain status of a DOT and non-DOT qualified collector for both hair and/or urine sample collections.
- Ensure all activities related to completion of driver files, verification of references, adherence to compliance related testing, and other pre-hire activities are done promptly and effectively to facilitate the hiring process.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 2+ years' experience in human resources and/or customer service and/or operations required.
- Associate's degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- Qualified collector or able to become qualified within 30 days of hire, required.
- Must be service-orientated.
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to collaborate and possess consensus building skills.
- Must be able to solve problems and provide optimal resolutions to conflicts.
- Must be able to work in high-pressure situations.
- Must be familiar with MS Office Suite.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00Hourly
