Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Provide leadership and oversee all aspects to achieve network optimization, truck productivity and trailer utilization for assigned Flatbed region.

  • Monitor designated region's compliance with customers' shipping and quality requirements. Oversee the establishment of policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Execute strategic forecast of region planning needs (daily, weekly, monthly). Proactively review current capacity to determine appropriate adjustments in order to provide optimal planning opportunities.
  • Prepare reports to monitor the fleet activity including unit revenue per day within the region. Utilize company reports in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide coaching to Driver Leaders as needed to ensure data accuracy and to maximize asset utilization.
  • Manage the cost centers of trucks and drivers in designated region.
  • Communicate with customers and make sales calls as needed.
  • Regularly review capacity commitments by customer, market and lane. Lead in making network decisions for optimal results.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • 4 years' experience in progressively responsible roles in the transportation industry required.
  • Demonstrated experience in network management/planning required.
  • Bachelor's in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Must be able to lead, influence and motivate employees at all levels in a cross functional, diverse and changing environment.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal, decision making and analytical abilities with a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Must have strong decision making skills with and able to negotiate effectively.
  • Must be able to manage and motivate others.
  • Must be able to work in a high pressure environment.
