JOB SUMMARY

Our Plant Accountant is a vital role within our facility.  This special individual will be part of a dynamic finance team in a fast-growing business. The Plant Accountant will be responsible for the daily management of inventory movements, goods receipts, payment tracking, investigation of financial data in SAP S4 and other systems that this multi-million-dollar facility uses to track inventory, finished goods, payments, payroll and more!

Pay range $55k to $65k based on experience

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Performs audits and posts daily inventory consumptions and adjustments

Coordinates inventory counts with operations in weekly cycle counts and month end reconciliation

Reviews and audits daily production in SAP to reported data, calculating daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics

Enters process order consumption of materials

Reconciles in-house inventory management system (Shop Floor) with SAP

Responsible for updating accounting operating procedures

Training of any new hires

Mentor and assist team with difficult accounts

Develop and implement process improvement efficiency strategies

Assists procurement team with auditing and correction of POs

Prepare and review various reports using MS Excel, SAP, Business Intelligence (SAP), Order Management, BPC (SAP) and MS Word

Main point of contact for AP inquiries, resolutions, and improvements

Streamline, automate and implement controls for processes that the position oversees

Meet with various levels of financial and sales management to discuss accounts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, but will accept Associate’s Degree with experience

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Statement structure, general ledger accounts, and a general knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes (vouching and invoicing)

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of SAP. Business Intelligence and BPC a plus

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups, Excel functions, etc.)

Ability to work directly with customers and sales staff

Ability to analyze data and general ledger accounts

Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong time-management skills and the ability to multi-task

Well organized, goal oriented, self-motivated, independent worker, detailed oriented, quick to learn new processes
