Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Interventional Pain Management and Spine team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing pain conditions, particularly spine and musculoskeletal conditions, and have an interest in identifying appropriate patients for opioid-sparing pain management interventions (epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequencyablations (RFA), peripheral and spinal cord stimulation, minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD), among others.) The physician assistant will work collaboratively with physicians to deliver comprehensive patient care.

This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE), providing an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on improving patient outcomes in pain management. The clinic is part of a thriving multi-disciplinary medical group, and the interventional spine and pain clinic works collaboratively with orthopedic and neurosurgery to provide comprehensive care. Patient and referral base stems from the Medicare and commercially insured populations of the greater East Bay. The clinic does not treat work related or personal injury related conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations of patients with spine and musculoskeletal pain, understanding the physical exam, clinical history, and diagnostic studies.
  • Provide post-operative follow-up for implantable spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulators
  • Assisting with medication and inbox management
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients on multi-modal treatment options, medications, and lifestyle changes to manage pain.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation meets clinic and regulatory standards.
  • A typical workday incorporates protected inbox management time (Care Coordination time) and 16-18 patient visits per day

Qualifications:

  • Active Physician Assistant licensure in California.
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, physiatry, or spine care.
  • Strong clinical skills in patient assessment and care management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
