Superlative Technologies, Inc. (SuprTEK) is seeking candidates for a System Administrator position supporting Defense Health Agency in San Antonio. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with Government Support staff to execute system backup and restoration operations. You will develop, maintain, and utilize documented Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) aligned with ITIL and industry best practices to meet application/system owner requirements. This role will be a Full-Time onsite position at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA).
Responsibilities:
- Implement processes to provide support and assistance to ensure system and infrastructure backups are completed, when scheduled, as required
- Follow Enterprise directives and procedures to periodically test backup and restore operations procedures where applicable
- Aid with documenting all backup and restoration operations in logs to allow for auditing of the activity
- Assist with and make recommendations to the Government to improve processes, tools, and/or procedures that will improve backup efficiency and reliability
- Assist with the coordination of appropriate government activity or agency in the resolution of any issues with backup/restore processes.
- Ensure all backups and other removable media are encrypted in accordance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) or other DoD/Federal requirements; all backups and other removable media shall be properly labeled and properly stored in fire-resistant vaults for operational back-ups (on-site storage) and historical backups (off-site storage) in accordance with Enterprise policies directives and procedures
- Monitor daily performance alarms, errors, and outage trends
- Review product delivery and host acceptance duties; verify hand receipts/ownership responsibilities
- Confirm diagrams, sustainment & operational documentation are available to the support staff
- Track pertinent system information, architecture, and performance; identify significant metrics
- Submit all Circuit Management request, submit all circuit request; perform all circuit sustainment actions to include Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Toll Free Number and DSN activities
- Define and create Avaya system permissions and skill level access.
- Update and document VOIP system structure
- Update and document VOIP VLAN Configuration and submit all VLAN requests to IPVM via Service Now ticket
- Update and document VOIP File Server settings
- Update and document Avaya Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM)
- Maintain credentials to access hosted environments
- Participate in project, leadership, DGIS, and other telecommunication related meetings
- Manage and troubleshoot new or existing server operating systems for related infrastructure software and hardware
- Administer day-to-day sustainment, integrity, security and availability of infrastructure platforms
- Execute capacity analysis, maintain security posture of infrastructure systems, and monitor performance
- Create standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles, as necessary to ensure proper documentation is established for the operational upkeep of the infrastructure platforms
- Perform platform maintenance upgrades to ensure a proper security and operational posture is maintained
- Assist architecture and engineering with evaluation, making recommendations and testing of infrastructure hardware and software products
- Support End User Devices (EUD), as required
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and expertise in Red Hat Linux OS
- Experience providing support for Virtual Machines (VM)
- Experience executing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance
- Experience providing support for Group Policy Objects (GPO)
- Experience providing support for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Knowledge and expertise in VOIP, IX Messaging, ACD and custom Call Center applications
