SENIOR ENGINEER - GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS

As a Senior Engineer - Gameplay Systems, you'll design, build and optimize the core gameplay technologies that lie at the heart of our game. Ultimately, you influence the backbone and infrastructure that runs our games, enable our designers and artists to build even more amazing characters, worlds and experiences and preferably enable experiences that our players would previously have thought to be impossible on the platform at hand. You’ll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with the game designers, designing new technologies that expand the gameplay in ways never before thought possible.   
REQUIREMENTS:   
  • You have a passion for programming and a talent for building fast, efficient, and scalable gameplay technology, such as AI systems, encounter systems, loot spawning, etc.
  • You possess a rock-solid understanding of overall game engine architecture, including concepts like Entity Component System (ECS), memory management, and multi-threading.
  • You have a talent for optimizing code for performance, scalability, and clarity.
  • You understand gameplay mathematics (e.g., linear algebra, physics).
  • You are highly fluent in C++ – having worked on many features, made mistakes, and learned from them.
  • You have strong troubleshooting skills and enjoy unblocking teams, working with cross-disciplinary teams, and helping them work more efficiently.
 

The base annual salary range for this position in the United States is $75,000-175,000. The base salary is just one part of the overall compensation package. SEMC also offers a package of benefits, including, healthcare coverage, unlimited PTO, a remote work environment, flex working schedule, parental leave support, 100% 401k match on the first 3% of your contribution, and paid local hangout meals and events. This base pay range is for the United States only and does not apply to international locations. The range for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
