Description
Industrial Carpenter – Build the Skyline with Suntec
At Suntec, our Industrial Carpenters don’t just build forms — they shape skylines. From soaring high-rises and stadiums to schools, parking garages, and massive tilt-up warehouses, your craftsmanship becomes part of the structures communities rely on every day. We are driven by an uncompromising commitment to quality, and our crews take real pride in standing back and saying, “I built that.”
All field and project-site roles at Suntec are safety-sensitive positions, meaning safety is not just a rule — it’s a responsibility. Every task matters, and every team member plays a role in protecting themselves and those around them.
What You’ll Do
- Build the backbone of major structures by laying out, preparing, erecting, and assembling concrete forms for pours.
- Set, brace, and align formwork using lumber, timbers, wall ties, coil rods, turnbuckles, clamps, and more to construct concrete piers, footings, and walls.
- Work alongside equipment operators, signaling cranes and heavy machinery to safely position materials and framework.
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, levels, squares, pneumatic tools, and more.
- Measure, cut, and shape materials such as wood, plywood, plastic, and timbers with precision.
- Install barricades and safety measures to eliminate jobsite hazards.
- Work efficiently, productively, and safely to meet production goals.
- Dismantle, stack, and organize concrete formwork after pours.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to ensure top-tier quality.
- Perform routine inspections on tools and equipment to maintain safety and performance.
- Lead by example by providing direction to laborers and construction helpers.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of carpentry experience in a construction environment.
- Strong commitment to following all safety requirements and participating in pre-task planning.
- Ability to work confidently and safely in all jobsite conditions with a team-oriented mindset.
- Reliable attendance — showing up on time, every day, ready to work.
- Physical endurance to perform strenuous labor in outdoor field conditions.
- Comfort working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated structures.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to follow directions with moderate supervision and maintain focus on detailed tasks.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position when required.
