Business Planner II
Description
SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office. Although located at SEWS – Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least three days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Basic Purpose:
Support the Corporate Business Planning (Corp-BP) group by performing administrative tasks and managing data related to the budget system, meeting preparation (e.g., Officer’s meetings, MBM), and other resources maintained by Corp-BP. Serve as a point of contact for company-wide Corp-BP support tasks, providing guidance for outside groups on routine activities (Corporate Decision Document preparation, budgeting process). Contribute to the development of new management tools for company-wide use and assist in analysis and planning projects led by Corp-BP.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly data administration and maintenance of Corporate-BP managed tools, including Prophix financial and headcount data uploads, Smartsheet-based actual headcount reports, cost center management master files, the Corporate-BP calendar and any future potential added tools.
- Provide Prophix user administration support by registering new users, updating accounts based on headcount and role changes, maintaining the semi-annual budget workflow system, conducting user surveys, responding to general system inquiries, and assisting in the development of custom reports for user groups.
- Support the preparation of monthly Officer’s Meeting materials by consolidating presentation files and creating special topic reports. Maintain and update meeting contact lists in alignment with organizational changes.
- Assist in coordinating Management Board Meetings, including scheduling, reviewing materials, and supporting external analysis conducted by the Corporate-BP team.
- Contribute to Corporate-BP cost control initiatives, including monthly SG&A and indirect cost management, fixed asset usage tracking, and supporting various upper management led project analyses.
- Support long-term initiatives to systematize and improve financial data processes, including monitoring and developing financial dashboards, streamlining managerial financial data preparation, and enhancing overall financial management practices.
- Integrate monthly managerial P/L and budget data by coordinating with relevant departments (e.g., BP team), and prepare reporting materials for the Japan office.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a corporate environment. 3-5 years professional business accounting/finance experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience or comfort with software administration is preferred.
- Japanese language skills strongly preferred (native speaker or JLPT Level III+ or equivalent functional level).
