POSITION TITLE:Warehouse Supervisor (1st Shift)
SECTION/DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
REPORTS TO: Shawna Patterson
LOCATION: NCSC
BASIC PURPOSE: The Supervisor position will be required to oversee 1st shift and support 3rd shift of the warehouse as needed. These shifts include hourly associates performing basic duties and functions such as receiving, inventory management, repack, picking, labeling and shipping. This position also supports all directives of the Warehouse Management team.
BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
- Provides materials, equipment and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing and distribution services
- Maintains receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by establishing and implementing operational activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory correct.
- Assist in controlling overall expenses, overtime, and staff headcount plans set forth by management
- Align warehouse activities with overall business operations by coordinating with department managers
- Maintains warehouse staff by assisting in controlling overall expenses, overtime, and manning plans
- Works in conjunction with QA, Accounting, IT and other departments as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and instill a “safety first” mentality to staff at all times
- Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education –High School Diploma, GED or Technical certificate required
- Experience—6 to 8 years of progressive plant experience including 1 to 2 years in a supervisory capacity; experience in a related Warehouse/Distribution facility; Automotive industry preferred.
- Computer Skills—Excel, Outlook, Word, ERP programs (SAP, WMS, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Analytic ability to research errors, recommend corrective action, and implement
- Experience in determining work procedures, preparing work schedules and expediting workflows for efficiency
- Supervise and oversee accuracy of inbound and outbound cargo
