Job Summary
Nissin Ion Equipment USA, Inc. (NIUSA), part of the Sumitomo Electric Group, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician. Candidate will be responsible to assemble, repair, debug and diagnose electrical controllers. Occasionally assemble and debug PCB boards. Install and wire up power supplies and controllers in a tool. Respond to requests for electrical repairs and breakdowns as well as perform routine maintenance and upgrade equipment as necessary. Candidates must know how to troubleshoot basic functioning of equipment. We prefer applicants who have at least two years of professional technician experience.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality
  • Wire, Assemble, check, test and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment
  • Solder, Assemble, check, test and install PCB boards
  • Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair/replace electrical systems
  • Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted
  • Install new equipment and do wiring to expand infrastructure as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule
  • Log all services/work performed and report progress to management
  • Create, modify and maintain Drawings/BOM/ECOs/Work Instructions etc. documentation.
  • Organize electrical/mechanical parts and maintains the local engineering stock.
 
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred
  • Knowledge of basic electrical components like resisters, capacitor, inductors, diodes, relays, contactors, circuit breakers etc.
  • Experience of soldering electrical components and PCB assemblies.
  • Experience wiring control panels and making wiring harnesses.
  • Knowledge of OrCAD or similar schematic capture or CAD drawing or electric wiring diagram software.
  • Ability to understand and create technical drawings/diagrams and documentation
  • Knowledge of test equipment like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, function generators etc.
  • Proficient to use manual and power tools
  • Basic knowledge about BOM/ECO life cycle process
  • Able to handle heavy items like heavy power supplies and assemblies
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick learner who is open and eager to learn new systems and components.
  • Understanding of analog and digital signals/circuits is a plus
  • Familiarity with use of Opto22 modules and components is a plus
The salary range for this full-time exempt position is $50,000 to $80,000 annually, with a 3-month probationary period. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives. 
 
Working Conditions:   
The employee will be required at times to lift as much as 50 pounds or the specific weight limits specified by the supplier of the part. The employee is expected to follow all Nissin and site safety rules.
