Manufacturing Engineer CO-OP Summer Intern - PC Strand Division

Position Summary: Summer Internship will run from May 13, 2024 – August 16, 2024 (depending on Intern’s school schedule.) The Manufacturing Engineering CO-OP position offers a real-world engineering experience working to develop resolutions and critically brainstorming theories. This position offers growth in the engineering field, collaboration, critical thinking, and more. As an Engineer CO-OP, you will work closely with our Quality Assurance team to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in materials testing, quality control processes, and data analysis while contributing to real-world projects within our company. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00AM- 5:00PM.
Work status and Location: This is a full-time position, non-exempt, located in Stockton, CA
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting material testing and analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Support quality control activities throughout the manufacturing process, including inspection, sampling, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action processes for non-conforming materials or products.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization.
- Assist in maintaining documentation related to quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Creation/ revisions of SOP’s.
- Hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative work environment.

Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong academic background with coursework in materials testing, quality control, and statistical analysis preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
