Position at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.

Although located at SEWS-BG Corporate Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work.  Associates are required to work at least two days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.

 

BASIC PURPOSE:

The primary function of the Senior Helpdesk Technician position is to provide technical support and assistance to SEWS user base. This position will respond by phone, email or IM to tickets created in our system, and use remote assistance tools as needed to troubleshoot the user's issue.

 

BASIC POSITION DUTIES:

  • Manage Helpdesk tickets in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot end user issues with PC hardware and other peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoot end user issues with Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Teams, Remote Desktop Services, remote VPN connections, etc.
  • Manage user accounts in Microsoft Active Directory (Password resets, new users, etc.)
  • Document technical solutions in our Helpdesk Ticketing system and update internal knowledge
  • base as needed
  • Handle and appropriately escalate high-priority or critical incidents to ensure prompt
  • resolution, coordinating with other support teams as needed
  • Participate in various IT projects with higher level IT support teams as needed
  • Assist in the training and development of junior Helpdesk Technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting techniques, customer service, and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree in an Information Technology related field required with at least two IT related certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive technical experience
  • Experience with Ethernet and Wireless networking protocols
  • Experience with MS Active Directory administration
  • Team oriented with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
  • Ability to support the Microsoft Operating System and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle user inquiries in a professional and helpful manner
