Customs Analyst
Description
SEWS—El Paso Customer Service Center (Eastside). Although located at SEWS – El Paso Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least two days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Job Title Customs Analyst
The person hired for this position will have the responsibility auditing the cbp. 7501’s entry summaries arriving from various US customs brokers. Preparing various excel reports for US brokers so payment for invoices can be done as soon as possible. Prepare/send invoices via Medius for payment. Help with part number eligibility USMCA. Issue the paperwork (RHC Form) for rework shipments. Audit import 7501 entry summary documents package. Contact Canadian, Mexican, and US Customs Brokers. Provide Customs clearance instructions to Customs Brokers and Forwarders. Assist in SEWS Customs department in all US Customs duties by supplying technical support in all processes according with US Customs Laws and Regulations
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, implement, and maintain preferential duty program for USMCA
- Conduct US Customs diagnosis or internal audit in monthly basis
- Create the RHC form for finished goods returned to Mexican Plants for being reworked and follow up
- Administrate and maintain certificates of origin ad manufacturers affidavits from SEWS suppliers and vendors
- Audit export documentation package (Customs Section) to ensure all documents have been issued properly
- Contact Mexican Customs Departments (Aduanas CONTEC, ATR, K&S) for part number support
- Review SEWS programs such as IPS (blue), CAS, LX, 2TSUS/MX.
- Audit 7501entry summary packages from US Customs Brokers, CFR, 19 Knowledge
- Provide Customs clearance instructions to Brokers and Forwarders
- Assist other Customs co-workers in an efficient operation of the tasks assigned to Customs Department
- All other duties as assigned with customs compliance team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
- 1 to 3 years of work experience with maquiladora import/export operations.
- Experience in US/CA/MX customs compliance (imports/exports)
- Able to handle stressful situations and time limit constraints as well.
- Knowledge of Customs records keeping
- Computer skills in Excel, Word, and Access.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
- Available to work 8-5pm M-F and on Saturdays
