Sumitomo is looking for a full time Maintenance Technician to join our New Berlin, WI team.  We are open to any level of experience and will provide training.  Come learn a unique skill and grow your manufacturing career!
 
Brief Description:
This is an entry-level maintenance position. Applicants with basic knowledge of using tools or experience using hand tools at home or in a work environment and who have a basic mechanical understanding are possible candidates. Training will be provided so this is a good place to start in the maintenance field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:         
  • Keep plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair
  • Examine machines to diagnose trouble, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
  • May occasionally make replacement parts
  • Cleaning filters and elements and completing general PM on coolant systems and mist collection components
  • Changing or adding oils and lubricants to production equipment
  • General cleaning and organization of tools and maintenance area
  • May need to provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff
What skills and experience are needed: 
  • Ability work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.+
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Three years preventive and predictive industrial maintenance experience
  • Strongly preferred candidates have previous experience with CNC grinding equipment such as; Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida, etc.
  • General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools
 
Work Environment:  Well-lit and clean machine shop with moderate noise.  Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing.  Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
