Operations & Communications Manager-Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence (CTSE)
Description
The CTSE Operations & Communications Manager for the Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence (CTSE) provides comprehensive coordination and day-to-day administration of projects and initiatives that support the Suffolk University teaching and learning community. This role partners with the director and team members on a portfolio of activities to advance the mission and goals of the center. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a lifelong learner who excels in operations and communications management, demonstrates an interest for enhancing teaching excellence in higher education, and possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Communications & Marketing
- Serve as the first point of contact for the CTSE, ensuring timely responses to all inquiries.
- Manage and execute communications for CTSE projects, programs, and initiatives, including the CTSE bi-weekly newsletter.
- Create promotional materials and lead updates and enhancements to the CTSE website.
- Develop and implement a center-wide communication strategy; actively monitor analytics and feedback from our community to make evidence-based recommendations to improve our communication planning.
Business Operations & Program Management
- Collaborate with the director to oversee office operations and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee and improve CTSE operations procedures and systems to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness; implement actions for improvement and practical solutions as approved by the director.
- Provide administrative and logistical support in the planning and execution of onsite, online, and hybrid events, workshops, institutes, and other initiatives, including organizing logistics such as facilities, catering, technology, and development of event marketing materials.
- Manage the CTSE budget in collaboration with the director.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, regulations, and legal requirements regarding fiduciary operations, implementing necessary changes as needed.
- Conduct research and analyze data to support team initiatives and assess program performance.
- Manage the CTSE lending library.
- Manage student workers and graduate fellows.
Space Management
• Coordinate and manage onsite and online event logistics for CTSE programming including technology set-up, signage, catering, and other needs identified by the program lead.
• Oversee maintenance and upkeep of departmental facilities; order supplies as needed.
• Manage usage and scheduling of CTSE spaces.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, communications, or a related field (preferred)*
- Minimum of three years of professional experience, preferably in higher education or nonprofit settings
- Proven experience in managing projects and navigating multiple task streams
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Ability to maintain a consistently high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in all work performed
- Ability to work independently to solve problems and seek resolutions
- Experience with or strong interest in upskilling with technology applications such as WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, Qualtrics, the MS Office Suite, and other emerging digital tools
