Suffolk University is pleased to announce a career opportunity as Part Time COVID Management Nurse Practionitioner! The Part Time COVID Management Nurse Practitioner works closely with the CHW Director of Medical Operations and the other CHW Nurse Practitioners to manage COVID-19 cases within our student population. 

Responsibilities include provision of medical advice to students, when confirmed positive for COVID-19, exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 and conducting comprehensive contact tracing as indicated by each index case.  The COVID Management Nurse Practitioner will take the lead on entering data into MAVEN (MA database for COVID management) and communicating closely with MA local boards of health as often as needed. In collaboration with the CHW Director of Medical Operations, the COVID Management Nurse Practitioner will work to improve upon existing protocols and practices as COVID work continues to evolve to meet the needs of our population. Position will require availability on some evenings and weekends - up to 20 hours per week.  The COVID Management Nurse Practitioner will also evaluate students with COVID symptoms via telehealth to develop appropriate plan of care.  Specific hours each day will not be predetermined but rather, defined by the immediate needs each day.

Requirements/Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree and active Massachusetts APRN license and credential required.
  • Demonstrated experience with data management and clinical documentation required.  MA approved access to MAVEN preferred.
  • Experience with managing COVID-19 cases, preferably in a college/university setting.  
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, creativity, and ability to quickly step into new roles and responsibilities required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends – position can be 100% remote.
