Description

STV has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Designer with BIM Modeling experience.  This position will be based in our Rancho Cucamonga, CA office.  The successful candidate will contribute to the design of transportation buildings such as stations and maintenance facilities in compliance with applicable building codes. A wide degree of creativity, initiative and latitude is expected.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work as member of team to develop Electrical Designs for buildings from Concept through Construction Administration
  • Works with engineering design group on the development of modelling tasks
  • Perform detailed modelling of Electrical systems including piping, ducting, and equipment
  • Coordinate with other disciplines in a collaborative 3D construction environment
  • Manage multiple projects internally with different project teams
  • Generating and Help ensure designs are in compliant with the companies’ principles of design for manufacturing, assembly, and systems integration
  • Coordinating design efforts with; and learning from architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams
  • Coordinate with the regional BIM team to develop and maintain BIM standards across all STV Electrical projects

 Required Skills & Experience 

  • Minimum of 10 years of BIM detailing experience in Electrical commercial & industrial buildings including both power and lighting systems
  • Working knowledge of Electrical building systems
  • Familiarity with industry standard design tools (Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, etc.)
  • Familiarity with code standards (NEC, CEC, Title-24, CalGreen, CBC, etc.)
  • Ability to develop design content efficiently with Revit MEP software
  • Interest in applying new technology, software, and scripting to improve traditional design, manufacturing, and construction processes
  • Interest or experience with prototyping and developing new products or design concepts

Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical/CAD design or demonstrated equivalency is required
