We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to be based in our Dallas office. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment for one of the leading Commercial Construction Management (General Contractor) firms. 
The Project Accountant plays a vital role on the Project Management team and will not only be responsible for client billings but will be involved in all functions of the financial management of their assigned projects or business unit.
 
We seek candidates that will take an active role in the financial functions of their projects and that can be a liaison between the project team and upper management. We expect exceptional customer service whether it is for an internal or external client, the ability to handle multiple tasks and issues with the ability to prioritize and manage one's time effectively and a proven knowledge of construction related accounting software.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Reconcile and prepare cost plus owner billings per company policy.
  • Review, reconcile and process subcontractor invoices.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors.
  • Work with project managers to analyze project profitability on a monthly basis.
  • Advise and support project managers with company standard on writing and processing Owner Change Requests.
  • Help the project managers with final financial job reconciliation.
  • Review and Analyze project financial reports submitted with the ability to investigate any discrepancies.
 
Qualifications:
  • College degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent accounting experience
  • At least 5 years commercial construction experience
  • CMiC software experience a plus or other comparable accounting software.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Desire to learn and accept new challenges.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, effectively works with others, and displays a “can do” attitude.
  • Extensive knowledge of standard accounting procedures, company policies, standards, and the requirements of each construction contract required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, advanced formulas and v-lookup.
