FINOPS FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER

SteelSeries is looking for a strong Finance Business Partner to lead the financial part of the growth journey for our global business.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, and you will be responsible for developing, building, structuring and managing financials with the aim of creating transparency and ongoing cost optimizations.


For the FINOPS Finance Business Partner, a big part of the responsibilities lies in the design, implementation and execution of the rolling financial forecast process, where the output is a realistic and unbiased forecast to support management decision making.

SteelSeries Finance has the ambition to be excellent in all we do, while ensuring the right balance between governance, compliance, and business support at the right cost.


As our new Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Senior Financial Business Partner, ultimately to the CFO. Your base will be in DK Copenhagen, but we believe in flexible working arrangements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end rolling forecast and budget cycle.
  • Define and design the forecast and ensure the successful implementation of the forecast across.
  • Evaluate on a regular basis if the forecasting process is working and achieving its desired outcomes and set up a drumbeat of continuous improvements.
  • Lead/Support design of management reporting decks and give guidance to the business on visualization of data.
  • Provide financial transparency and predictability to enable better decision making.
  • Ensure high quality financial overview, reporting and compliance.
  • Proactively share and communicate finance matters to relevant stakeholders in- and outside the BU.
  • Proactively challenge financial plans, budgets and business cases.
  • Participate in strategy development and plan for execution.
  • Lead implementation of financial planning tools.
  • Lead and support improvement projects in finance related to alignment of financial reporting and business analysis across business units, functions and locations

 

 

 

Qualifications

In this role, you need both your professional acumen and experience as well as your personality to succeed.

 

You must have a bachelors or master’s degree in economics and minimum 5+ years of experience from an equivalent position within a larger organization.

  • Business and analytical acumen, strong storytelling skills i.e., in interpreting and explaining what drives performance within the business.
  • Confident in challenging the business, ability to influence decision making and focus on continuous improvement.
  • A natural strategic problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work on improvement projects in a changing environment that includes complex organization structures, multiple stakeholders, and geographically distributed teams.
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide others when necessary.
  • Self-starter who can work independently.

WITHIN 1 MONTH YOU WILL:

  • Settle in and get to know your new colleagues in Finance Business team currently counting four full-time team members. 
  • Get started with the daily management of the designated business units.
  • Strive for better visibility on forecasting and profit and loss statements.
  • Initiate monthly reporting on PL budget vs actuals and forecasting.

 

WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Lead the implementation of new reporting and forecasting structure throughout the region in close collaboration with the rest of the team.
  • Strive for better visibility on business processes and procedures, including month-end and contractual terms of which the business is operating under.
  • Ensure better visibility of performance and that the profitability is correctly reflected in the PL.

 

WITHIN 9 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Work closely with the regional business to uncover and clarify business needs and translate your findings into value-adding solutions. 
  • Have grown your business acumen and procedural capabilities and will be ready to gradually expand on business partnering and serve as an adviser for both the company’s financial department and business leadership. You will use research, analysis and experience to develop business and financial recommendations, provide budget feedback, and assist leadership in key financial decisions, meaning that you will play an important role in the company’s economic growth.
