Supply Chain Controller

The Supply Chain Controller serves as an overseer and adviser for both financial and operational leadership. Responsibilities include implementation of effective global supply chain procedures and controls to ensure compliance with company policies, while ensuring goods are flowing to the customer in the most efficient manner possible. As a Supply Chain Controller, you will be the link between different departments, primarily Finance, Operations and Sales. The position takes root in the Business Controlling team and therefor manages the daily operation from a finance and controlling point of view.

The controller uses his/hers research, analysis and experience to develop business and financial recommendations, provide budget feedback, and assist leadership in key financial decisions, meaning that they play an important role in the company’s economic growth.

The Supply Chain Controller responsibilities:

  • Assisting with development of the plan, budget and trends of the supply chain in line with the strategy.
  • Budget controlling of inbound costs (inbound freight, custom duties, other costs), physical distribution costs (warehousing and outbound freight), obsolete slow moving and other logistics costs.
  • Controlling inventory.
  • Prepare monthly Provisions.
  • Monitoring of other key performance indicators (e.g. service levels, quality of forecasts, headcount/productivity) in coordination with departments in charge.
  • Producing monthly reporting of activity in a timely manner, respecting the deadlines, ensure data quality, and communicate effectively.
  • Analyzing the gaps, check data consistency, challenge results, identify risks / opportunities and propose corrective actions needed to keep budget’s targets.
  • Following up on the financial impact of key initiatives / projects and evaluate the results.
  • Ensuring compliance with management, accounting, taxes standards.
  • Helping to identify opportunities to optimize costs and performance.
  • Active contribution within the Supply Chain Committee towards the implementation of the strategy and providing of controlling expertise.
  • Participating in building business plans of global / local Supply Chain projects and contributing to the implementation of the end to end strategy.

NECESSARY SKILLS:

  • Strong business understanding.
  • Strong financial background with a master’s degree in economics
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as Supply Chain Controller or similar role
  • Experience in big data, analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management).
  • Excellent communication skills (English)
  • Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail
  • Accounting and PL understanding.
  • Working knowledge of MS office, databases and Navision or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

WITHIN 1 MONTH YOU WILL:

  • Settle in and get to know your new colleagues in Business Controlling team currently counting six full-time team members. 
  • Get started with the daily management of the designated business area.
  • Strive for better visibility on budget controlling and profit and loss statements.
  • Initiate monthly reporting on PL level, budget vs actuals and forecasting.
  • Getting insight and setting up monthly provisions.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Lead the implementation of reporting- and forecasting structure throughout the region in close collaboration with the rest of the team.
  • Strive for better visibility on business processes and procedures, including month-end and contractual terms of which the business area is operating under.
  • Ensure better visibility of performance and that the profitability is correctly reflected in the PL.                                                              

WITHIN 9 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Work closely with the regional business to uncover and clarify business needs and translate your findings into value-adding solutions.
  • Have grown your business acumen and procedural capabilities and will be ready to gradually expand on business partnering and serve as an adviser for both the company’s financial and Logistic leadership. You will use research, analysis and experience to develop business and financial recommendations, provide budget feedback, and assist leadership in key financial decisions, meaning that you will play an important role in the company’s economic growth.
