ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for people that believe in collective code ownership, that a story isn’t done until there are tests written, and are open to mentoring and being mentored. We have multiple product teams and software services in development with interesting tech problems to solve. If the opportunity to stretch yourself and learn new skills, to have collaborative, constructive conversations with other engineers, designers, and product managers about how to better our code and products, and the belief that all code is unit testable sounds good then this might be the place for you.

 

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for taking our Nahimic software to the next level. An ideal candidate is a product oriented front end and middleware engineer that can make a huge impact on our product development, has experience developing desktop and/or COM/DLL/LIB components, and has a serious passion for technology.

 

SteelSeries  Singapore,  formerly  Nahimic,  is  part  of  the  Software  division  of  SteelSeries.  Our  team  of audioprocessing and software engineering specialists is based in France, Singapore and Taiwan. We are developing the next generation of audio software, combining cutting-edge technology and innovation to boost the gaming experience for gamers. Leaders in the gaming market, we equip PCs and peripherals from the biggest brands such as MSI, Dell, Asus and Huawei

 

NECESSARY SKILLS:

  • 7+ years of experience in developing Windows desktop software using C++/C#.
  • Experience in developing Audio Processing Object (APO) and Windows COM object is a big plus.
  • Experience and efficient in using Git, good understanding in GitHub preferred.
  • Understand or able to do Object Oriented design is a big plus.
  • Audio related domain knowledge is a big plus.
  • Debugging/troubleshooting experience and able to work independently and multi-task effectively.
  • Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate in a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • A desire to mentor and elevate fellow engineers
  • Eagerness to continuously learn and excel in the craft of software engineering

 

WITHIN 1 MONTH YOU WILL:

  • Come up to speed with our tech stack. Our front end is an UWP application, and our middleware is predominantly written in C++/C#.
  • Be able to contribute in Nahimic application development.

 

WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Begin to debug simple issue or develop simple features in Nahimic
  • Continue to innovate and add features to Nahimic
  • Join in the development to discuss improvement/future development for Nahimic.

 

WITHIN 9 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Act as a true engineer by architecting and developing software features for both the UWP frontend and components libraries of Nahimic
  • Proactively refactor code to achieve a perpetually clean design that has adequate test coverage
  • Evaluate new programming languages, frameworks, and tools and propose when they should be integrated and/or migrated to
  • Work across software teams to educate others on best practices for code, test, and documentation quality
