ABOUT YOU:

The Marketing Director - Americas will partner with the General Manager across all of the Americas to create strategy, vision, and ideas big and small. The Director will drive growth across the Americas with significant opportunity to increase brand awareness and loyalty amongst the fastest growing products in the category. They will work with omni-channel retailers including our largest customers Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy to identify white space within them and drive new avenues of growth. The Director will run the market execution of global strategies whilst managing the SteelSeries brand experience and consumer interaction across the Americas. In addition to broad functional accountability, the Director will have P&L responsibility for the region’s marketing budget.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing long & short-term marketing strategies and executing programs including ATL, BTL, online, merchandising displays, product promotions and special events.
  • Set Brand KPIs for the Americas and ensure brand health based on overall business growth and targets.
  • Plan and execute the marketing strategy for the Americas, ensuring collaboration with regional and global marketing colleagues but fine-tuning to suit the Americas market needs.
  • Execute Promotional Calendar – linking all promotions and relevant timeliness for marketing collateral in line with overall business objectives.
  • Under the global/regional guide, create local VM Display initiatives and ensure the execution is consistent and effective in the Americas.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with industry leading researchers and develop new decision-making insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive traffic to store as key KPI for retail marketing and ensure brand exposure.
  • Set brand positioning, media alliances & advertising objectives in line with guidelines.
  • Develop digital strategy based on global and regional brand requirements adapted with local relevance to help support the Americas’ business goals.
  • Knowledge of the tools, methods and approaches that are driving higher conversion rates, increasing average order value and acquisition techniques.
  • Organize and attend meetings, events, and trade exhibitions
  • Build relationships with complimentary companies/brands who want to get into esports.
  • Full P&L accountability for the marketing budget

 

 

NECESSARY SKILLS:

The ideal candidate shall possess strong marketing credentials in consumer, digital or traditional CPG related sectors. The key criteria for this role will include:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in the marketing function (Brand marketing) with a track record of driving measurable results which result in direct P&L impact.
  • Extensive understanding of and experience in developing social and digital media strategy.
  • At least 7 years’ experience exercising a deep understanding of customer touch points and working cross-functionally to drive business strategy.
  • Must be skilled and passionate about using analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership ability, relationship management experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – verbal and written. Is effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and bosses.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills as well as forecasting and budget / P&L management experience.
  • Innovative, strong at bringing creative ideas to market; has good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work.
  • Hands On: comfortable creating strategy as well as rolling up sleeves and executing.
  • Learns quickly when facing new challenges; a relentless and versatile learner; open to change; analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement.
  • Creates a climate in which people want to do their best; can motivate and influence cross-functional team or project members
  • Familiarity with some or all of SteelSeries sales channels; ideally with knowledge and experience of eSports, gaming and related industries
  • Experience working with consumer products across multiple channels
  • Seasoned marketing leader with extensive track record for online and offline marketing.
  • Extensive experience in channel marketing focused on ROI.
  • Experience driving a brand-focused impactful and integrated marketing function.
