About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction & Asset Manager to oversee our growing LIHTC multifamily portfolio. With 2 projects currently under construction and 5 additional closings anticipated by year-end, this is a high-impact role offering significant visibility across a national portfolio. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing construction oversight and handling asset management responsibilities, though we are open to candidates who excel in one discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Management
- Oversee and manage owners' representatives assigned to each active development project
- Conduct regular construction audits to monitor quality, schedule, and budget adherence
- Support pre-construction budgeting and plan review
- Review working drawings and construction documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in administering construction contracts and advising on issues requiring attention from contractors or the development team
- Provide guidance to ensure smooth project completion, delivery, and warranty periods
Asset Management
- Manage investor and lender draw requests across the portfolio
- Serve as a key point of contact for lenders and equity investors during the construction and lease up periods
- Monitor project-level financial performance and reporting
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction management, asset management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of multifamily real estate; affordable housing or LIHTC experience is a plus but not required
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across geographies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with owners' representatives, investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel as needed to support a national portfolio
- Based in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX or New York, NY
