Program Description:

Starwood Capital’s Internship Program is 9-weeks long and we select a group of highly motivated summer interns with the goal of identifying talent for our Full-time Analyst Program. Our size and structure provides individuals with a high level of responsibility and the unique opportunity to work directly with senior management, joint venture partners, investment bankers, brokers and commercial lenders in all real estate classes. Summer Interns will participate in a variety of specialized trainings that will refine their skills and assist them in transitioning into the professional working environment of Starwood and the investment industry as a whole. A mentorship driven program allows our Summer Interns to create lasting relationships that will support the continued growth of a successful career.

Responsibilities:

Intern will have an opportunity to participate directly in the accounting of real estate investments. This intern will gain experience in:

  • Assisting with preparation of SEC financial statements
  • Preparing monthly accounting reconciliations
  • Preparing and reviewing schedules supporting our monthly NAV filings
  • Assisting with review of property level reports from our fund administrator
  • Participating in and supporting periodic Tax and SOX meetings
  • Assisting with preparation of schedules supporting our SEC filings
  • Assisting with preparation of special reports and other ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  • Must have an accounting major
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized and strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, manage and effectively present information
  • Must be a 2025 college graduate
