Collections Manager        
 
Job Summary: Operational management of a collections department; including a team of collections representatives, a collections supervisor, and administrative personnel. Hybrid (remote) work schedule available. 
     
Key Responsibilities:        
  • Create and implement a vision for the department that will incorporate best practices and set the foundation for strong performance.
  • Control delinquency and maintain an acceptable level of bad debt losses.
  • Develop and maintain productive work teams and provide ongoing performance management for a team of collectors, a collection supervisor, and administrative personnel.
  • Constant review and approval of all processes to ensure maximum recoveries are achieved while maintaining a compliant environment.
  • Ensure all applicable laws and statutory requirements are followed pertaining to credit, collections and reporting. Resolve complex collection and receivable situations.
  • Recruit, hire coach, and train team of collections representatives as necessary.
  • Change management, including the evaluation and transformation of current processes. 
  • Work with the executive team to set goals and improve efficiencies.
  • Form strong partnerships with vendors, attorneys, and outside agencies.
  • Ensure the department meets or exceeds assigned delinquency goals, bad debt goals, and is maintaining a compliant environment.
  • Leadership by example, exhibiting behaviors and communication skills that demonstrate a commitment to superior customer service throughout the collection process.
  • Generate productions reports, account reviews, and general collection documents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements        
  • Preferred bachelor's degree or acceptable level of experience.
  • At least 5 years of collection management experience.
  • A strong understanding of credit and lending.
  • Advance knowledge and understanding of collection strategies. 
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to meet time commitments and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to direct, coach, lead, and motivate in a team environment.
  • May have to work on a “limited” basis on weekends as needed. 
Supervisory Responsibility: Yes.       
  
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, with a hybrid work schedule available once training is completed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets, and other office equipment. This position may require some travel to outlying store locations.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.     
     
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is position, and hours of work would routinely be 40+ hours per week in a rotating schedule that may requires the ability to work on Saturdays.  Given the nature of the position, there will be occasions that extra hours and travel may be required.
