Senior Manager, Business Development Operations
SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development Operations role that will report to the AVP, Business Development. This role provides leadership over the organization's BD analyst, capture and proposal functions, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, compliance with best practices, and the effectiveness of the full business development lifecycle.
This role leverages extensive prior experience in these areas to oversee, mentor and guide a team of business development/capture analysts and proposal coordinators who support BD directors and operations managers in identifying and tracking opportunities and delivering compelling, compliant proposals.
The role includes management of business development operations, including responsibility for the budget, and the integration of enterprise systems such as Salesforce and GovDash to drive consistent process excellence and competitive advantages.
The Senior Manager, BD Operations will assist the BD team in the identification, qualification, and capture management of federal government programs and international opportunities. This includes managing orders tracking and reconciliation, key DoD and international pursuit administration, and capture gates review oversight.
The Senior Manager, BD Operations is a critical component of the BD organization. This role supports the daily BD activities by helping to maintain continuity and situational awareness with all account leads and their BD directors who are frequently on travel or offsite work. They track both individual opportunities being pursued by the BD team members, as well as the overall performance of the BD organization.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategic vision and direct the end-to-end business development lifecycle, including opportunity identification, capture strategy, proposal planning, and gate review compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational growth objectives
- Oversee the development and management of BD Operations team, including budgets and associated resources, optimizing ROI and efficiency
- Analyze existing processes, tools and lessons learned for continuous improvement, enhancing win probability and compliance standards
- Mentor and manage BD Operations staff, fostering professional growth, high-performance culture and adherence to procedures
- Manage common capture process and ensure opportunities flow through a gated process, advising leadership on opportunity pursuit and bid/no-bid decisions
- Manage and update Business Development policies, procedures and work instructions, along with BD templates and briefs
- Establish metrics and dashboards to monitor team performance, proposal outcomes, and business development effectiveness
- Provide top-level management of the CRM tool, Salesforce
- Manage and report on orders pipeline including reviews with the executive leadership team
- Manage onboarding of new staff including new BD leads, directors and operations staff
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, and minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in capture management, proposal leadership, or business development, with at least 5 years in a managerial level role
- Proven track record guiding successful capture strategies and producing winning proposals, with prior hands-on experience in capture and proposal disciplines
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within 1 year of start date
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite with a concentration in Excel and PowerPoint preferred
- Strong business reporting, project management and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to develop effective relationships and operate with all levels of the corporation
- Effective leadership, time management and organizational skills
- Team player who is willing to step-in when needed to support other efforts in the capture and proposal support area
- Integrative thinker with demonstrated analytical, planning and problem-solving skills and ability to connect information across the business
- Knowledge of the Shipley capture lifecycle
- Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite with a concentration in Excel and PowerPoint preferred
Ways to Stand Out
- Experience with GovWin and Sam.gov opportunity identification and tracking solutions
- Familiarity with GovDash BD Lifecycle Workflow and AI tool
- In-depth experience using Salesforce
- APMP Certification or equivalent Shipley certification at the professional or tactical level
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $125,000 - $150,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs. SRC offers competitive benefit options.
