Lead Test Engineer (Automation)


SRC, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced lead test engineer (automation) to work out of their corporate headquarters office in Syracuse, NY. As a lead test engineer (automation), you will support adoption of Software Factory and continuous integration on DS&S programs by contributing to infrastructure and pipeline automation solutions and assisting DS&S Programs in adopting those solutions. As a member of the integration and test team, you would play an integral role in supporting leading edge communications, radar and electronic warfare (EW) technologies and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) technologies for the intelligence and defense communities.

The position can be full-time telecommuter, however, proximity to a major SRC facility is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and innovate a detailed automation framework and methodology for testing
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training for managing automation infrastructure and tools
  • Develop, maintain, and update an automation framework to work with a centralized test case repository
  • Improve test workflows via automation by creating scripts and tools
  • Work collaboratively with on-site and distributed cross-discipline project teams to support the development of new software products
  • Support the development and execution of automated unit, integration, and regression tests
  • Support the development and execution of manual integration and regression tests where appropriate
  • Perform verification and validation of advanced EW software applications

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or related fields
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of relevant experience
  • Experience with automated deployment / continuous build / continuous integration
  • Experience with development tools like JIRA, Bamboo, Confluence, SharePoint, IntelliJ, Perforce, and GIT
  • Experience with test automation software (such as Selenium, GEB or Jest)
  • Applied knowledge and experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think independently, and overcome technical challenges
  • Ability to clearly communicate abstract concepts to team members verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical and teamwork skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience leading feature development and coaching fellow teammates
  • Experience with systems integration, test plans, and test procedures
  • Experience conducting formal customer testing (verification and validation)
  • Experience conducting data analysis, support trade studies, and prepare test briefings
  • Understanding of radar, antenna design/analysis, radar signal processing and radar requirements analysis
