Engineering Technician
As an Engineering Technician at SRC, Inc., you will play an integral role in the development, support and limited production of cutting edge technologies designed to keep America and its allies safe. You will work closely with Engineers and Technicians on test, troubleshooting, assembly and fabrication of complex electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems.
What You’ll Do
- Work on development and/or limited production programs in an engineering laboratory setting
- Test, troubleshoot and debug complex circuit boards, sub systems and systems using digital and RF test equipment with limited direction
- Assembly or fabrication of mechanical parts/assemblies
- Rework and repair electrical and mechanical assemblies
- Set up test stations and or build test fixtures and cables to conduct functional/operational tests
- Setup and teardown systems for test
- Follow all company policies and procedures relating to Quality and Safety
- Keep work areas orderly, exercise good housekeeping practices and participate in improvement activities
- Write or revise assembly instructions and unit test procedures
- May perform lower level tasks as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or other tech degree
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is also accepted in lieu of degree
- 3 or more years of related experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical skillset
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, technical datasheets, mechanical drawings, test procedures, and assembly instructions.
- Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of and experience using electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, etc.)
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly tooling and techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, with excellent communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Ways to Stand Out
- Experience working with RF circuitry
- Experience working with radars or electronic warfare systems
- Complex circuit board rework experience (hand soldering surface mount components, hot air rework, installing jumper wires, cutting traces)
- Experience fabricating cables (power, data and RF)
- Experience working with fabrication tools (hand tools, power tools)

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $59,000 to $85,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs. SRC offers competitive benefit options, including a 10% company retirement contribution, low cost health care options, 20 days PTO yearly with an additional 8 paid holidays. Technicians at SRC are eligible for overtime at 1.5 times their regular rate. This is a first shift position.
