Digital Hardware Engineer


SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a digital hardware engineer to design, develop and test innovative solutions to challenging problems of national significance. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate a desire of producing high-quality, consistent results in a deadline driven environment. Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital subsystems comprised of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), microprocessors, high-speed communication links, and high bandwidth memory interfaces
  • Interface with RF designs and unique mechanical packaging in support of novel radar and EW systems
  • Basic soldering skills and familiarity with typical lab equipment (DMM, scopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, temperature chambers, EMI chambers, …)
  • Design and test custom high-speed circuit boards
  • Perform board- and system-level integration and test of new designs
  • Provide engineering support for production programs
  • Participate in team-based environments for large systems
  • Use scripting languages such as Perl and Python to automate tasks
  • Analyze collected data in software tools such as MATLAB
  • Design firmware for FPGAs using VHDL
  • Program microcontrollers in C/C++
  • Provide strategic/big picture technical leadership

What You Bring to the Team – Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering with 3-5 years of experience
  • Ability to formulate practical ideas, make decisions and take responsibility for them
  • Ability to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • 10 percent travel may be required

Ways to Stand Out – Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with the implementation of digital signal processing algorithms
  • Experience in the defense industry
