Summary

This role leads engineering for the Care Connect Suite (CCS) Platform and the Voice Connect products. The CCS Platform is the new Kubernetes-based component-based foundation that the rest of CCS is being built on. Voice Connect is Spok's Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, owning automated call handling, voice scripting, call-flow design, and voice routing. The chosen leader will manage distributed development and QA teams across both areas and will partner closely with the Platform Architect to own architecture components and direct the work of team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

>Lead the Platform and Voice Connect engineering team within the Care Connect Suite.

>Partner with Product Management and the Platform Architect to define priorities, architecture, and delivery plans.

>Provide technical direction for Kubernetes-based Platform architecture, deployment models, and Voice Connect IVR design.

>Own key architecture components and guide engineering execution across platform and voice workstreams.

>Lead Scrum/SAFe planning, backlog management, dependency coordination, and delivery risk tracking.

>Ensure releases meet quality, security, compliance, documentation, testing, and deployment standards.

>Lead production issue resolution and support lifecycle activities from design through modernization.

>Manage and mentor distributed engineering and QA teams while promoting accountability and technical excellence.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

>Bachelor degree.

>5+ years managing software engineering teams, including distributed/global locations.

>8+ years in software development or development-testing, with direct experience in platform/infrastructure engineering.

>Experience partnering with architects and product management to define technical roadmaps and set delivery priorities.

>Experience with Service-Oriented Architectures and API gateways.

>Experience with secure development practices and standards-based Identity and Access Management.

>Agile/Scrum development required.

>Experience working cross-functionally to align work-product deliverables and mitigate conflict across multiple teams.

>Ability to identify, own, and solve problems independently or as part of a team.

>Experience mentoring and coaching engineers; strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.

>Experience creating, executing, and reviewing user stories, development schedules, and test automation.

> Salary range $150,000 - $160,000k
