Role

The Senior Director of Talent and Organization Effectiveness will drive Splunk's talent practices, organization effectiveness and workforce planning capabilities. This role will empower Splunk's teams with the tools they need to develop team members, deliver results and drive Customer value and business success in a culturally cohesive way.

This role represents a unique combination of strategic and tactical leadership. Reporting to the VP of Talent Management, this role will work through partnerships across Human Resources, business strategy and finance groups. They will activate culture through strategic programs and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovative organization and talent management strategies to meet long-term business needs, advance Splunk's mission, vision and values. Strategies and practices must also drive our diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
  • Build Talent and OE expertise at Splunk, through developing a team as well as creating scale through HR Business Partners.
  • Reinvent talent and performance experiences so that they support our pay-for-performance perspective as well as team member growth and movement.
  • Design and deliver talent processes and practices that allow leaders to strategically manage their workforce: reviews, deployment, succession planning, etc.
  • Drive workforce planning methods for a fast growing organization in the midst of a business transformation using a data driven model to identify needs, design solutions, assess results and continuously evolve our practices. Use industry benchmarks and insights as planning inputs.
  • Partner with Leadership and Learning to define and drive critical talent practices (e.g., succession) focusing on senior leader roles as well as critical roles throughout the organization.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to enable Splunk's internal talent marketplace by leading initiatives around team member mobility, re-skilling and careers.
  • Partner with Splunk People Operations Team (SPOT) to operationalize practices and processes and create tools and resources for team leaders and members.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience, in talent management, organization design, workforce planning and performance management, including at least 5 years of senior leadership experience in a global organization. Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership presence, with a shown ability to collaborate with, influence and inspire senior leaders and others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic and systems thinker with an ability to connect talent practices with business strategy and outcomes.
  • Ability to drive client-centric, rapid design, development and execution of solutions for identified client segments; very adept at needs assessment and synthesizing diverse needs for enterprise wide solutions.
  • Experience leading and implementing large-scale change with ability to build and scale within Human Resources.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to “fly the plane while you’re building it!”
  • Analytical and data driven leader who is facile with influencing and storytelling with data and using it to drive and measure results.
  • Outstanding consultation and problem-solving skills with an approach for scalability and continuous improvement.
  • Some domestic and international travel required (post pandemic).
