Role

Are you passionate about the role data can play the world today? Do you love using tools like spreadsheets and visualizations to explain success metrics for event programming?

The Event Analytics Marketing Manager is an active member of Splunk’s Global Event Marketing team, working on our data analytics strategy and supporting events such as our global user conference, .conf, SplunkLive!, industry programming and other high-value programs. Although broad marketing and event management experience is helpful, this position requires clearly defined skills, specifically focused on analytic and project management, and software/data reporting knowledge in tools like Excel/Gsheets, Tableau, and SFDC. The role also demands proven success in working cross functionally leading teams toward a project outcome.

This position will include the substantial task of building and maintaining the event analytics reporting structure for the Global Event Marketing (GEM) events portfolio. Splunk’s event programs involve data from integrations, mobile apps and lead management systems and require clearly defined dashboards to ensure the program receives proper project review and sales outcomes. A strong collaboration with fellow GEM and Marketing Operations (MOPS) team members is a must, as these partnerships will determine collaborative objectives on many of the events. Experience in preparing and mapping data to outcomes is critical.

This person must be able to achieve event program goals, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices and process improvements related to the overall management and execution of event analytics strategy and operations. Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain monthly GEM analytics reporting and prepare quarterly narrative to be shared within and beyond Marketing
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources for Tier1 programming to prepare reporting for event stakeholders
  • Serve as a core team member determining goals for programming that may be directed or impacted by analytics
  • Identify patterns and trends in data sets and work together with event owners or additional teams to confirm, map and report out results.
  • Work alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs
  • Develop project timelines and effectively communicate deadlines and dependencies to larger team
  • You will be a project manager team member to support tasks and duties that service the programs - QC assets or tickets and serve as a second set of review for team projects.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated success in martech or data analytics in a rapid-growth environment, corporate or agency-side, tech sector preferred
  • Experience with reporting tools within software platforms is strongly desired. Such knowledge should include SFDC and Eloqua and experience with Tableau and Snowflake is also welcome. Day to day use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Slack is expected
  • Experience with integrations for virtual event platforms and mobile apps is a plus; platforms include Rainfocus, Intrado, On24, OEP, and EventBase
  • Commitment to collaborate and develop positive business cross-functional relationships.

  • Enthusiastic team player with exceptional communication, writing, project management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, set priorities, work proactively and independently, problem solve, improvise and function as part of a team that must perform under pressure
  • Travel limited to assigned events

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience and training or related experience, preferably in analytics or event discipline.
