Role

As ESG Reporting Program Manager, you'll lead the delivery of Splunk’s Annual Global Impact Report and drive continuous evolution and implementation of Splunk’s Global Impact reporting practice and disclosure strategy. You’ll also project manage a cross-functional ESG disclosure working group to ensure alignment with current and future global, regional and country level voluntary and regulated disclosure frameworks, and you will manage and coordinate customer, investor and analyst responses and questionnaires regarding Splunk’s ESG practices, program and performance. Reporting to Splunk’s Sr. Director of ESG and Sustainability, you will play a vital role in building out the Splunk impact reporting and ESG practice group by providing strategic program management and operational support, to achieve business objectives and advance Splunk’s Global Impact strategy. 

Splunk is based in the San Francisco Bay Area; for this position, proximity to one of Splunk’s West Coast offices is preferred; full-time remote positions may be considered at Splunk’s discretion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree a plus
  • 8 to 12+ years of program management experience in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, enterprise-level reporting and communications or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing corporate sustainability reporting projects
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills (e.g. project charters, trackers, timelines, and reports)
  • Relevant project management training and/or certifications preferred (e.g. PMP)
  • Relevant reporting certifications preferred (e.g., SASB FSA Level I or Level II, GRI Reporting, TCFD)
  • Experience working within a sophisticated in-house reporting team, sustainability and/or impact department, communications/branding agency, or sustainability consulting firm
  • Working understanding of current and emerging global sustainability reporting guidelines, standards and current/pending regulations related to ESG disclosures and impact reporting (e.g. SASB, TCFD, GRI, VRF, IFRS Foundation / ISSB, EU CSRD, UK SECR, US SEC)
  • Sophisticated Microsoft Office and GSuite skills (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Docs, Sheets, or Slides)
  • Proficiency with project management practices, tools and methodologies (e.g. MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheets, or Lucidchart)

Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified

  • Shown success leading end-to-end enterprise-level reporting projects, from design agency engagement to project management and engaging multiple content owners, editors and communications and marketing partners towards timely and successful outcomes.
  • Proven project management strengths and direct experience leading global-scale corporate sustainability and climate reporting projects from start to completion
  • Contribute to ongoing evolution and implementation of global sustainability reporting and disclosure strategy
  • Partner with cross-functional, internal stakeholders across Splunk to execute key sustainability reporting activities, such as drafting, reviewing, and due diligence
  • Monitor and maintain global ESG disclosure calendar and roadmap of current and pending voluntary and regulated disclosures (ISSB, EU, UK, US, TCFD, GRI, others) and stay abreast of ESG disclosure frameworks and guidelines to ensure timely alignment; project manage cross-functional ESG disclosure working group
  • Coordinate with internal marketing, branding and communications partners to ensure alignment of ESG narratives, metrics, and claims across key channels
  • Experience managing, leading and/or coordinating ESG-related customer and investor requests for information about Splunk ESG and impact programs and performance;
  • Ability to lead and complete ESG ratings agency responses (MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, Bloomberg ESG, CDP Climate, S&P CSA); solid understanding of ESG ratings ecosystem, scoring methodologies and understanding of general timing and approaches
  • Lead teams through meetings and progress measurement activity which bring distinct, specific projects to completion on time and within budget
  • Communicate project progress, issues and risks via status meetings, reports and presentations, with project teams, business owners, and sponsors
  • Handle program timelines, dependencies, decisions, and constraints
  • Supervise budgets, vendors estimates:actuals variance tracking
  • Lead engagements with external consultants and other partners to support key workstreams
  • Participation in internal and external working groups related to ESG disclosures and reporting frameworks and experienced public speaking and presentations related to sustainability reporting and disclosures for a variety of audiences
