Do you have a passion for understanding the underpinnings of marketing attribution? Do you want to crack the code on what is the true Marketing contribution to revenue? Are you fascinated by complex analytical models and data rich ecosystems? When it comes to launching new advertising campaigns or delivering those great T-shirt taglines, someone has to figure out how to pay for it. How exactly should we be making the trade-offs between investing a dollar to grow pipeline vs. strengthening our brand? The Business Operations Manager for Marketing will manage, advise and measure Splunk’s global budget in partnership with FP&A and procurement. You are key to ensuring that our business objectives align with operational budget. And with your strategic thinking and creative analytics, you’ll help Splunk identify opportunities to achieve greater ROI.

You are a wizard when it comes to numbers and spreadsheets. As a matter of fact, you probably get asked by your spreadsheet-loathing friends on how to fix a formula all the time. But the real magic is in your ability to create meaning and stories from those numbers to help our leadership team understand marketing’s investment strategy and how it aligns to the company’s priorities and initiatives.


For this particular role, you understand the breadth of investments marketing organizations make in order to position ourselves amongst competitors and grow pipeline. You have the expertise to navigate financial planning systems and procurement processes—your colleagues think of you as their trusted advisor. Bonus points if you have experience with Allocadia, NetSuite, Nexonia, and Anaplan.


  • Deep understanding of marketing pathways for both online and offline channels
  • Tenacity in identifying potential budget and reporting issues or challenges and is able to find a working solution given constraints
  • Operates with the mindset on self-education and continuous improvement
  • Ability to run a project independently once framework and context has been provided
  • Ability to identify which cross-functional groups or marketing teams need to be engaged and recommend the best approach
  • Data-driven marketing strategy, planning, budget allocation and organization alignment experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to deliver insights that improve performance and ROI.
  • Superb communication skills with all levels of the organization.
